The fundamental problems in today’s society involve experiences of fragmentation. People experience a sense of fragmentation within themselves, from each other and the world at large. Violence and trauma are consequences of fragmentation, and also are causes of fragmentation. The antidote to fragmentation is connection.

Through discussion and demonstration, Dr. Stefanakis presented his C.O.R.E. (Centering, Opening, Releasing and Extending) essential components for effective interventions supported by theory, research and practice from more than two decades addressing violence and trauma issues.
